Students who are achieving at a very high standard, or are identified as being gifted or talented, are catered to at Swayneville State School.
Classroom based activities are differentiated, to attend to individual learning needs and rates, and this includes our students who have need for an accelerated rate of learning. Multi-age classrooms makes differentiated pedagogy an absolute must.
Our school works in conjunction with the Brisbane School of Distance Education to access extension programs. The development of digital access skills is a key component of the courses the students undertake, as students participate in live online lessons with like-minded students via web conferencing. They also access learning resources and activities via the project's virtual classroom - at school, or at home.
