Blessed with beautiful weather, Under 8’s day celebrations were a resounding success. With the attendance of Homebush State School children, local playgroups and kindies, our school was filled with little people together with their parents and grandparents - all enjoying a morning out at a well organised early childhood focused event.
The better part of 35 specialised activities appealed to the children, including ‘The Balloon Man’ who twisted balloons into flowers, dogs etc. Hector - the large costumed coal representative from Dalrymple Bay - was also present, and we cannot forget our Sarina High School senior childcare students who proved to be very apt at painting faces. As it is also Chappy Week (celebrating Chaplaincy in Schools) it was wonderful to have the Chappies of the Sarina Area come along and be the much needed extra sets of hands.
A super large thankyou goes to all who supported the day. It was great to see families being together and meeting the younger siblings of Swayneville students.
On the behalf Swayneville School Community, I would like to express our thanks to the early childhood team - Julie, Carolyn M, Beth and Jody who, supported by the rest of the school and P&C, made this morning a reality
