Year 3/4/5 were thrilled to host Mr Darren Hamblin and his two sheep on Tuesday afternoon (21 May). The son of a 'gun shearer',  Mr Hamblin showed the class the finer points of shearing sheep including the types of shears and blades shearers use (and used to use), how to hold a sheep whilst shearing and shared some facts about the fleece of sheep.  As Mr Hamblin does not farm sheep for wool but meat, he does not use his sheep's wool and gave the class some fleece samples which the children were extremely eager to accept. At the conclusion of the demonstration, the class and Mr Hamblin had an informed discussion swapping facts and questions.  Year 3/4/5 thank him for his time.
